"Bloemen in de Winterlicht" ...

-soft pastel chalks on cotton weave 35x51 cm (14"x20") November 2007.

* Flowers in winter light, first- and perhabs last work with chalks, but at least tested
the technique and it was interesting, even messy. Then I wanted to add some details with
acrylic paints, doths here and there which moisted the chalk, leaving darker shadows on
those spots. Original is brighter, therefor the name as it's photographed in winterlight.

Luckily I'll be in Portugal for a while before Christmas to escape the greyness and hope
to see some flowers still alive!

my family is full of babies now (not mine, thank god lol)
and the softness of these just makes me think it would be perfect for soothing them to sleep, and bright enough to excite them into a new day!
